Midleton Farmers’ Market

Saturday morning sees locals and tourists alike flock to the Midleton Farmers’ Market, adjacent to Hurley’s SuperValu at Townspark, Midleton. Midleton Farmers’ Market has the honour of being Ireland’s original farmers’ market. Established by noted local culinary expert, Darina Allen (of Ballymaloe fame) and local farmers to create an outlet for their produce, Midleton Farmers’ Market has gone from strength to strength and now boasts a bulging cornucopia of the finest produce on offer.

With live music each Saturday, Midleton Farmers’ Market has a feel-good atmosphere, where visitors can pick up some tasty treats, get themselves comfy on the grassy verges nearby (weather permitting) and soak up the ambience. Canine companions are welcome.

Midleton Farmers’ Market takes place each Saturday from 9am to 1pm.

The Cottage Market, Ladysbridge

Founded in June 2014 as a labour of love by a local mother and daughter duo, the Cottage Market in the village of Ladysbridge brings together the best of local produce and crafts under one roof or canopy (the market is held in the local village hall in the winter, and across the road under blue skies in the summer, weather permitting).

The eponymous cottage once belonged to a woman called Sarah Power who, along with her five children, lived off the bounties provided by the land – an ethos the current market adheres to.

This Sunday market is a haven for local food producers and craftspeople, alongside talented local musicians, creating a laid-back, family friendly market experience.

The Ladysbridge Cottage Market takes place every Sunday in the summer from 10.30am to 12.30pm. Please find them on facebook for their winter market details.
